ABOUT US


        Raghunathpur Spot Light Society as an organization was the outcome of the effort of those youths of Jhargram who gave it a formal shape in the established year 2002 when it got registered under West Bengal Societies Registration act-1961. But it registered on 9th August 2004. Initially RSLS was very busy doing relief work, giving emergency health support services during the hours of natural calamities, repairing and re-construction of village roads, sinking of tube wells, distribution of medicines among the people etc. in collaboration with local panchayets and Block Development office. Through this process of work when it came into contact with different resourceful persons in both govt. and non-govt. organization, the organization started undertaking various projects like training on income generating activities, health clinic programme for the community people, action against environment pollution, construction of smokeless chullah, water & sanitation facilities thrift saving and micro credit through promotion of Self Help Groups, pre-primary and Creech, issue based awareness generation camps, family counseling and Legal Aid Services, etc.
The prime objective of the organization is to create equal opportunities for both men and women of socio-economically backward class, caste and communities for their comprehensive development in sustainable manner. To reach out this goal, the organization has been working relentlessly since its inception with spontaneous participation of its target population- mainly the people of Primitive Tribe Group (PTG), minority Muslim and backward communities like Scheduled Caste and Scheduled tribes. However, it is a non-religious, non-political, non-profit making welfare organization working for the sustainable development of the people, especially who are the poorest among the poor.



The organization is registered under West Bengal societies Registration Act,1961 to function as a voluntary social welfare organization.
